Borg Cube On Ice

... Shaken Not Stirred.

Exploring an uncharted system outside of Federation space, the starship USS Collider discovers an ice choked spectacle when sensors indicate the presence of a Borg cube, frozen in orbit between an enormous crystal and the 3rd planet!

The main idea I had was that the Federation was being threatened by something that was actually freezing a sun and its planets out there in the universe. After the initial finding, at least another star system falls into the deepest freeze of all. It of course would be up to the most clever minds of Starfleet to determine the who what and wherefores to effectively deal with it.
